SUSTAINABILITY

STRATEGY

RCDC can help to develop net zero carbon development strategies and guidance to help our clients achieve their long term sustainability objectives. Once the plans are in place we can help implement these from either a design or management perspective.

In order to achieve this, we really get to know our clients and understand their needs and objectives. A bespoke sustainability strategy, which meets the particularly needs of a client, has a much greater chance of achieving its desired goals.

We can assist in determining current building emissions and identify a route towards Net Zero Carbon or other energy reduction targets.

RCDC is also happy to provide training for the Client's team to ensure all involved in the use and implementation of the documents created, understand the implications for them, and how they can achieve the goals defined. Our team keeps up to date with the latest developments within the industry, and we are happy to share these insights with our clients.

In July 2019, Wokingham Borough Council (WBC) members unanimously declared a climate emergency. The declaration commits WBC to do as much as possible to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. Subsequently, the council published its first Climate Emergency Action Plan (CEAP) in 2020.

RCDC were heavily involved in advising and shaping Wokingham’s CEAP, working closely on their Design Guide and Checklist.
