Matthew Stone

Mechanical Engineer

Matt is a graduate engineer from the University of Sheffield. He graduated in 2021 and is very excited to get stuck in at a time when decarbonisation of buildings is of high importance. He is interested in the industry’s response to climate change and eager to learn and contribute to the innovative solutions that can be implemented to help reduce the environmental impact of buildings.

Whilst at University Matt has written a paper on Life cycle analysis in the rail industry, looking at the embodied carbon impact of railway sleepers. Prior to working at RCDC he also interned with Connected Energy working with Solar power and Biogas energy production and monitoring.

In his time at university took part in several social action projects across Sheffield such as repurposing food waste to feed the homeless in the city as well as starting a football club. Outside of work, he enjoys playing football and being a member of his local church and community.
