Leas Lift

RCDC were appointed as main MEP designers for major refurbishment and extension works at least, a Grade II* listed historical landmark of Folkstone. The development included full refurbishment of top station back-of-house areas, lower station exhibition & waiting areas, historical pump room and a new extension providing a café.

Working as part of the wider design team, RCDC provided Stage 2-5 design, which included replacement of the existing heating system with an air-source heat pump. To complement and further reduce the operational carbon, we have proposed and designed a PV array system, ensuring compliance with historical conservation requirements.

As part of the works, RCDC facilitated the required utility upgrade to comply with new electrical and water consumption, associated with air-source heat pump and café kitchen, and provided extensive services to maintain lift operation and enable multi-functional use of the café and exhibition space.
